Zanna
Colline Teramane Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva
“Where it all began”
When our founder, Nicola Illuminati, and his grandson acquired the land and farmhouse in Controguerra, the area was already known as Zanna. The name derives from the wolves that once roamed those lands, a reminder of the delicate balance between man and nature that we have always been committed to respecting. On those five and a half hectares of land, the ancient indigenous grape variety from which our Colline Teramane Montepulciano d’Abruzzo D.O.C.G. Riserva is made still thrives. After twenty-four months in Slavonian oak barrels, a ruby-red wine emerges which, over the years, takes on a garnet hue, with aromas of blackberries and wilted flowers that fade into something ethereal. With its soft tannins, it is velvety on the palate: a strength that expresses itself with elegance and embodies our very essence. Thus, over time, Zanna has gained widespread recognition, even internationally, becoming an icon of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo.
